Altered notebooks and a tag

As you all know besides making mini albums, I love to alter things.  Recently I have altered two notebooks and also decorated the pages making it a semi smash book/journal of sorts.

Here is the first one and it was part of a swap...

The image above and below are taken with different backgrounds and angles.

I love love this journal!  I used Webster's Pages for the cover with lots of lace and flowers.  There are several charms too.  The black and white tag is a pull out and the alphabet is by XXX

I made another using A Ladies Diary and this time I made a tag too..........

I love the lace on the edge of the journal above and the lace flower below!

The images above and below are of the inside of the cover of the journal.

Just look at that tea pot!  This collection is awesome!

The above tags slide in the pocket and below is close up

The images above and below are but 2 of the many pages inside the journal

The above image is the back of the journal

The tag I created for this journal

I love the little pink dress on a hanger charm - suits this tag perfectly!

A Tim Holtz dress form, metal flower and lock with key are some of the elements on this tag.

Fussy cutting with this collection is amazing; adds so much more to your project!

Christmas Tags in a Box

With this post I am show casing some Christmas tags I made for my swap partner.  Our swap was Saturday past so it is 100% OK for me to publish these images.

I mostly used Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium and few other scraps, some bits and bobs.

Warning!!!!  Image overload..................... *grin*

The above image is the cover of the book which houses the 5 tags I created.  The book itself, the Christmas tree, outlines of presents, snowflake under the poinsettia and the poinsettia itself was cut with my cameo using papers from the collection. Don't you just love that lace??!!

Close ups of the cover.

The image below shows the closure of the book at the side

The images below show the inside of the book.

The Five Tags

Tag No. 1

Tag No 2

Tag No 3

Tag No 4

Tag No 5

The snowflake is an actual Christmas tree ornament and added to that is an image from Tim Holtz Seasonal idea-ology paper collection.  I love the music sheet at the back of the tag!

It was such fun to create this for my swap partner and rather difficult to part with at the time but the consolation is that I can always make another for myself :-).

I hope you feel inspired to create some keepsake tags from your favourite paper collections too.

Thanks for stopping by...

Fairy Tag

Hello blog visitors, hope you are all having a fabulous weekend; I know I am. Saturdays are my favourite crafting days and I most definitely find myself in a tag mood this weekend!!

Over at The Shabby Tea Room this week they have a "hey pumpkin" challenge.  The colours of the challenge is awesome..................take a look at this inspirational image.....isn't she just gorgeous??!!

I made what I call my "angel tag" and I have a specific friend whom I intend gifting it to; she was one of the first friends I made here in Dubai; she is from Jordan and she totally loves angels.  So without further ado..........here is my tag...........

This tag was made from bits and bobs.  I used a ranger tag and covered it with paper scraps.  A script stamp using black soot and Victorian velvet distress ink...I fussy cut the butterflies that came with the image, applied glossy accents, some leftover bling and a small square of net behind the fairy image.  A Tim Holtz pin, a gold lock and key and awesome burnt orange fibre wool.

The angel is an image I downloaded off the Internet; used glossy accents to highlight her bodice and the rose in her hair.  The wings are from a last year Xmas flower - used silver glitter on the borders and adhered to the back of the image  Random feathers, sticks and flowers completed the look.

Here the tiny gold key tied to the end of the fibres is clearly visible.  Used a different type of netting to create a V to insert a poem and adhered artificial Xmas leaf bits to secure the opening for the poem insert.

The insert is a fairy poem.  Left over laces decorate the edge of the tag and another different type of dotty lace dangling down completes the look

Back of the tag and poem insert on the right

No poem insert Tag only!

Poem insert - found the poem on the Internet, cut it to size, inked the edges and adhered to...

.
..Prima packaging.

A final look at the front of the tag...

...the back of the tag with poem insert secure in the V shaped netting...

I hope you like my tag and mostly I hope my friend will like it too!!
